Some People Come Into Our Lives…

with 4 comments

…Leave Footprints On Our Hearts, And We Are Never, Ever The Same!

Through the years, our lives change and we may get busy.  It becomes more difficult to get together and do the things we used to love so much.  Though as days, weeks, months or even years pass by…when we do get together, it’s as if no time has passed.

True friends last a lifetime, just as a marriage is meant to, just as great memories do.  Which is, my deario cheerios…

A wise little birdie replied with, “Not if he snores!” – love it.  Seriously though, I just love seeing old married couples who have been together for so long…it’s so romantic and sweetFifty years is lifetime…so before you get married, why not ask your favorite married couple how they have managed to last so long?  It’s inspiring…and lovely to hear.

Best wishes to all of you!

New Magazine ~ Weddings By The Ritz-Carlton…

leave a comment »

 …Puttin’ On Da Ritz!

When my husband and I got married 6 years ago, we were blessed and lucky to receive our honeymoon at The Ritz-Carlton Chicago as a gift.   Walking into the hotel, fully dressed in my wedding gown and the hubby in his tux, it was an amazing experience we’ll never forget!  We were treated like royalty – our entire stay!  Literally.

ritz-carlton-honeymoon-4

Every person working at The Ritz treated us like gold, even remembering our names and greeting us the entire stay.  Seriously – how did they remember our names like that?  Every single person in that hotel from the concierge, the front desk, the bell guy, the elevator guy, wait staff – greeted us with, “Hello, Mr. & Mrs. H.!”.  We weren’t wearing name tags.  They just knew who we were somehow.  I still don’t understand how.

Our stay there was magical.  Breathtakingly beautiful and so much more.  If you’d like to read more about our stay, click HERE.  Even if you don’t go there for your wedding or honeymoon, if you just stay there for one night, at least once in your life – the experience is worth it.  I can’t explain it…it just is.  You’ll understand if you go!

I love The Ritz-Carlton hotel chain for so many fabulous reasons, but this next reason tops the cake!  Did you know that they have also started  A Vow to Help Others program?  “When you book your wedding to be held prior to December 31, 2010, The Ritz-Carlton will donate five percent of the food revenue to The Ritz-Carlton Community Footprints Fund and the charity of your choice.” – The Ritz-Carlton

Now that’s fab.

As if their hotel ambiance, impeccable service and giving back to the community wasn’t enough, The Ritz Carlton has now decided to also come out with a wedding magazine to help couples plan for their wedding.  Yes, it’s true…

WEDDINGS BY THE RITZ-CARLTON BECOMES BIANNUAL MAGAZINE

ritz-carlton-weddings-1

“This June, Weddings by The Ritz-Carlton will become a biannual magazine distributed in guest rooms of the 70-plus Ritz-Carlton properties worldwide and to all brides- and grooms-to-be who inquire about weddings and honeymoon packages at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C.

By bringing together writers, illustrators and photographers from around the world, Weddings by The Ritz-Carlton will be a new type of bridal magazine that inspires and delights readers the world-over with insights into the trends and traditions of a signature Ritz-Carlton wedding, as well as elements of designing the ultimate wedding experience including rings, gowns and ideas for making the celebration and honeymoon unforgettable.

‘The Ritz-Carlton sets the standard for once-in-a-lifetime occasions and our magazine is fashioned to do the same,’ said Julia Gajcak, vice president of marketing and communications at The Ritz-Carlton.” – via Press Release

Who’s excited?  You know I can’t wait to get my first copy of the magazine…and as soon as I do, darling dearests, I’ll be sure to share it with you.  Cheers and happy planning!

Will You Take The 2009 Wedding Pledge?

with 6 comments

…Let’s Give Recognition To Our Favorite Peeps In The Wedding Industry!

There are so many professionals in the wedding industry who I adore and look up to.  Whether it’s because of their creativity, hard work, inspiration, dedication or just plain kindness, they deserve to be recognized!  I bet you know of several or at least one.  Who in the wedding industry pops to mind that you’d like to honor?

I’ve taken a pledge.  I will publish a blog post on Tuesday, April 21st, about a person (or few) I admire in the wedding industry, but only if twenty other bloggers will do the sameTake The Pledge!

Want to go the extra mile after taking the pledge, to make it a bit more personal?

Send each of your favorite people a lovely Poppy Letterpress Card by Bellis Studios to let them know they’ve “popped to mind” and that you’ve given them recognition on your blog.  Wouldn’t that be such a nice thing to receive in the mail?  I know it would bring a smile to my day…

Thanks to Bride Tide for starting this pledge, great idea!  For more details, click HERE.  Now go on.  Take The Pledge!

Displays Of Affection…

…I Can’t Explain Love.  You’ll Just Know It Once You’re In It!

Maybe this photo will help…if you haven’t found it already, this is kind of what love feels like!  If you have found it already, you probably know what I’m talking about…

Love is…awesome.  As is the photo above.  It reminded me of a picture of my husband and I, which was not professionally taken but turned out pretty cool in itself!  In fact, it’s one of our favorites…

Do you have a favorite picture of you and your honey that really just displays the affection you have for each other?  If you’d like to share, please do!  Just comment with a link to it, crediting your photographer if it was taken by one.  Of course, please behave…you know what I mean.

Perhaps I’ll feature a few on the blog…and together we can be like happy little hippies and prove to the world that true love still exists.  No matter the hard times, bad times, war, economy, whatever…let a little ray of love in!  I know, I’m a total sap.  But if you’re reading this, maybe you are too!  It’s ok, we can be sappy together.  Cheers!

(P.S. Babe, if you’re reading this…I love you! xox ~Jaim)

…You Would Blog Too If It Happened To You!  Dat-da-da-da-dat!

Yesterday was my birthday.  This is my birthday weekend.  It’s been a little crazy fun!

As much as I tried singing, “I can blog if I want to…”, my friends kidnapped me instead for an exciting birthday weekend!  Who would have thought turning 30 twenty-ten would be so much fun?  Let me fix that.  I’m officially accepting the word “thirty”.  My name is Jaime and I am now 30 years old, thank you very much.

I cannot tell a lie, it was a little difficult this week as the date neared, knowing my 20’s were soon going to be over with.  However, it’s a milestone and one that I’m happy and blessed to have reached.  I’m looking forward to this next decade of my life, bring it on!  Birthday pictures soon to come.

Until then, let’s celebrate other bloggers with birthdays this month too.  Had your cake but didn’t make the list?  Let me know so I can add you and wish you a happy birthday as well!!!

Learning A Lesson…

with one comment

…About Work/Life Balance.

Ever feel overwhelmed?  Is your brain ever just way over-stimulated?  I feel that way right now.  But I enjoy the feeling – I like having things to do.  I love it, and I work well under pressure.  However, this weekend a friend I love very much opened my eyes and made me realize something important.

It’s about work/life balance.  Sometimes, I get so into projects, obsessing to master them, that I forget the time and get lost in my own little world of creativity.  This sometimes leads to me missing out on the other fun things in life.

What I have to realize is that my own little world isn’t the only world out there…so I’m learning.  From now on, I’m going to try to focus on balancing.  The only problem is that I’m not very graceful.  But I’m working on it!

Thanks to my friends and family for being patient, and thanks to the I Inspire Me blog for sharing this little crafty piece of inspiration.  One thing I love to be, is inspired!

What do you do to stay better balanced?  Especially if you’re planning a wedding, since I’ve been there and know just how crazy it can get.  Share your thoughts!

…Really Awesome New Wedding Bands ~ AND They’re Affordable!

Want to look like a million bucks on a small budget?  If you’re getting married and looking for high quality but affordable wedding bands that are marvelous, stylish and sentimental, Carved Creations is your answer.

Why, you ask?  According to THIS article from The Wall Street Journal, “All of the items cost less than $200.  Thanks to a new metal called “Platanium“.  Not Platinum.  Not Titanium.  Platanium!

Check out THIS Platanium LifeDates ring, with your wedding date carved in Roman numerals:

According to The Wall Street Journal, high-end jeweler John Christian, well known for their lavish line of personalized jewelry, was having a difficult time with it’s jewelry becoming out of reach for many customers.  This was due, of course, to our lovely weakened economy today and our fabulous gold prices shooting through the roof.

What did this smart company do to fix the issue?  Call Batman?  Nope.  Instead, they decided to reach out to a different crowd in the market (a.k.a. people like me who aren’t millionaires), by making a product using a stainless-steel alloy called “Platanium” – a lower cost alternative to expensive gold.  They gave it it’s own gorgeous site, called Carved Creations!

No go get your treasure!  Head on over to Carved Creations and take a looksie, I know you’ll love it!
