Set Your Table: Black & White Bliss…

with 2 comments

…Adds Sophisticated Edge!

Before modern brides took over, the color black was left for funerals.  Today, however, brides are incorporating black into their beautiful white weddings and it’s hotter than ever!  Black and white weddings are not only classy, but sophisticated, sexy and even a little edgy too…

If you consider yourself a modern bride, consider bringing this stylish look home to your table as well.  The pairing of these colors allow you to transform your table from casual to dressy, just like white dishes do…only with a little sass

Spice it up a little with punches of color for any season or occasion, using flowerslinens or whatever else comes to mind.  Oh yes, black and white is here to stay, wouldn’t you say?  Now, how will you Set Your Table?

Pour Some Sugar…

with 4 comments

…On Me!

Ok, so maybe you don’t actually want sugar poured on you at your wedding (you can save that for your honeymoon!), but you can definitely cover a rockin’ dessert table with it!  If you’re planning a white wedding, stick within the theme using sugar treats and sweets like New York event planner Amy Atlas did in the pictures below…

white-wedding-inspiration-board-created-by-its-a-jaime-thing-dotcom

Maybe you could even put signs on your white sweet table with lyrics from your favorite songs about sugar or white weddings.  Think “Pour Some Sugar On Me” by Def Leppard, “White Wedding” by Billy Idol, “Sugar, Sugar” by The Archies…what other songs can you think of?  Have a little fun, your guests will get a kick out of it!

Customized Jones Soda Bottles…

with 7 comments

…Added Personalization & Pops Of Color To My Sister’s Bridal Shower!

Like the song by Counting Crows goes,Pass me a bottle, Mr. Jones…believe in me, help me believe in anything, I want to be someone…who believes…yeah…”, Mr. Jones did help me believe – in drinking really good soda

Yes, Mr. Jones helped me believe in everything pink, orange, yummy and fabulous!  With customized Jones Soda bottles in Fufu Berry, Orange & Cream and Cream Soda for the guests, it was indeed a sweet, refreshing treat!

I love that Jones Soda allows you the option to customize your bottles.  It’s pretty simple – you just upload a photo, type in what you’d like the front of the label to say, then you type in what you’d like the back to say.

For my sister’s bridal shower, we put, How sweet it is to be loved by you!” on the front, then the back of the label said, “It started with a kiss, so let us toast to this ~ sweet dreams and best wishes to the soon-to-be Mr. & Mrs!  Brock & Lindsay 2009”.

Everyone was so excited to receive their own personalized bottle of Jones Soda, they had never seen anything like it!  I have to admit, they were pretty darn cool.  The pretty packaging definitely sold me at first, but the delicious taste is quite impressive too.  Everyone loved it!

I’m not normally a big “pop” drinker, but after the shower was over and the soda was gone, I ran to my local Super Target to pick up some more.  I had to stock some of that yummy stuff in my own fridge!  Of course, I also kept one of the customized bottles from the shower as a little keepsake after I drank it, so it’s now proudly displayed in our kitchen!  I know, I’m a sentimental pack rat.

Now my sister wants to get customized Jones Soda for her wedding!   Since the soda comes in a variety of different colors and flavors, I definitely plan on using it for future events too.  Yay!

If you love Jones Soda as much as I do or perhaps have never even tried it, you’re in for a treat, my friends!  Just visit www.jonessoda.com to find store locations or to customize your own bottles for your shower, wedding or other event.  They even offer a Jones Soda Weddings page filled with inspiration!  Cheers and enjoy…I know you will!

More pictures and details from the bridal shower to come…stay tuned!

Old Hollywood Caught Red-Handed…

with 17 comments

…In Passion!

I’ve always been drawn to the color red.  Mixed with black and white.  Those were actually the colors of our wedding, almost 6 years ago!  That was before I was introduced to the world of wedding blogging

Now, the ideas for that color scheme continue to push through the crevices of my happy, wedding-obsessed mind and onto this blog, for you…

I recently created this board for a bride who was searching for old-world, vintage Hollywood wedding ideas.  While I personally think each photo above deserves applause for it’s lusciousness, I especially love the bracelet.  It reads, “Keep Me”.

To the bride planning her wedding, keep the fond memories of your past.  Keep some of the traditions passed on through your families.  Keep the wonder of childhood and remember it’s innocence.  Keep the hopes and dreams of your future, the love you have for each other strong…and keep your vows!  No matter the years that go by…always, always keep the passion.
