…How Hosting A Partylite Party Can Get You Free Centerpieces & Decor For Your Wedding!

I’m notPartylite consultant.  Nor am I trying to sell you anything.  I’m simply a huge fan of Partylite because of the fact that thanks to them, the majority of my wedding decor was free!  Want to know a secret?  Some of my bridesmaids’ gifts were free too.  Sshhh…nobody has to know, right?

So how did I do it?  By doing something I love to do anyway…I threw a party!  What if you did the same thing?  It’s the perfect excuse to get your girlfriends together to have a little fun, maybe drink some wine and do what we all love…shop!  All from the comfort of your own home.

Plan to have the party during the evening, so the candles that your consultant brings can really show off their glow.  Perhaps you could start the it around 7pm, after everyone has already had dinner.  That way, you can keep it affordable with yummy wine, cheese, coffee or desserts.

Put on some music, drink some wine and relax!  Play some games to include candles as prizes, talk about your favorite candle scents as you smell new ones, giggle over stories about how your fiance might think you have enough candles to have a seance…you know, just have fun!

There is never any pressure on your guests to buy, but your consultant will be there with catalogs in case they do want to buy something nice for their homes.  I mean really – who doesn’t love candles, right?

Based on the total sales from your party, you can easily earn yourself free or half-priced products of your choice, for your wedding!  So how does one host a really great show to get their free candles?  It’s not difficult, my dearies…to see how, visit my guest blog post over at the Wishpot Wedding Blog by clicking HERE.

A New, Stylish & Affordable Chicagoland Venue For Your Event…

…Pina’s Culinary Experience, Where We Hosted My Sister’s Bridal Shower!

For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been sharing with you all of the little details from the bridal shower my sister and I recently hosted for our little sister.  Now I’ve saved the last post on the shower to share the venue details, Pina’s Culinary Experience in Roselle, IL.!   If you’re looking for a place to host your intimate wedding, shower or event, Pina’s is wonderful – I highly recommend them!

From the minute we found this place, we knew it would be perfect.  This charming little spot has only been open for about 2 years but has become quite popular…and I can see why!  The service is top-notch, the menu is affordable and the chefs there are so great to work with.  No, I really mean it – if you host your event there, you’ll end up wanting to hug them (I actually did)!

Pina’s Culinary Experience in Roselle, IL.

The venue offers tasty and delightful cooking classes and also can be used to host private events.  There are two rooms, the Mediterranean style room in the front (shown on their website) and the larger room on the side, which is the room we hosted the bridal shower in.

The larger room is newly remodeled with a lovely contemporary feel!  Supporting local artists by hanging their gorgeous artwork on the walls, Pina’s is not only attractive inside but very into helping the community as well.  They’re just really good people!

I still can’t believe how affordable it was to have the shower at Pina’s.  Can you believe it was even less expensive than hosting it at an “affordable” restaurant?!  I researched so many places before we found Pina’s and I’m so thrilled with our decision to have the shower there.  Not to mention the fact that we had our own private room and our own personal gourmet chef

Chef Edward was extremely accommodating  with helping us plan for the shower and allowing us to decorate however we wanted.  He even helped us decorate…hanging the tissue flower poms we made, the banner I created and more.  He came to the rescue with a few things I had forgotten about too…like the candy for my “P-A-R-T-Y” dishes and the music for the shower.  What a guy!

He also let us come in and set up a couple of days early, so that it would be easier on us the morning of the shower.  By the time the guests arrived, everything was set in place and ready to go.  My, did it look beautiful!!!

Everything was perfect – the atmosphere, the service, the food.  Oh, that food…so yummy!  Dessert was fabulous too…he created for us fresh individual cherry cheesecakes, chocolate-covered strawberries and one very tasty cake

So darlings…if you’re on the hunt for that perfect Chicagoland venue for your intimate event, you must give Pina’s Culinary Experience a try.  Let gourmet chefs Edward and Pina help you plan a menu that will rock your tastebuds and fit your budget.  Tell them I sent you.  You won’t be disappointed!

Not planning a party but want to learn how to cook?  Let Pina’s welcome you into their kitchen where you’ll learn to cook delicious meals from a gourmet chef, maybe have some cocktails, listen to music and just have a good ol’ time

Floating Centerpieces…

…Submurged In Love!

Every time I think about  helping my aunt plan my cousin’s wedding last year, I laugh.  Why?  Because I was trying to offer creative ideas to my aunt and ended up saying to her, “You know what would be really cool?  If you put water into the vases!”, (duh)!  She laughed at me and replied with, “No kidding?  What a concept!”.

Yes.  I know.  Apparently it’s quite common to put water into a vase.  Amazing, isn’t it?  However, what I was actually talking about was submerging flowers or other items into the water for the centerpieces, like a couple of these pictures shown below…

I also love the idea of putting whatever else your little heart desires into vases or bowls.  For more ideas, visit this week’s guest blog post over at the Wishpot Weddings blog!  Let your imagination flow.

You don’t have to spend thousands of dollars on lavish floral centerpieces to make your wedding glamorous.  You just have to get a little creative and spend a little time to find exactly what you want, to make your centerpieces fit within your wedding color, theme and most importantly, budget.  Happy planning!

Badgley Mischka Bridal Shoes…

with one comment

…Surprisingly Achievable!

If you scroll through my blog, it’s no surprise I’m a sucker for adorable wedding shoes!  While I try to feature fairly affordable shoes, once in a while a designer pair calls my name and I just have to share.  No matter the price.  Because for me, at the end of the day, shoes are like art

Well, today I nearly fell off my chair when I found designer shoes that are not only hot, but modestly priced too!  Shoes by none other than the fabulous Badgley Mischka…who would have thought?  Take a look…

Badgley Mischka ‘Costa’ ~ currently $200 at Piperlime.com

Badgley Mischka ‘Chaz’ ~ currently $215 at Piperlime.com

Badgley Mischka ‘Caroline’ ~ currently $225 at Piperlime.com

Ok, so I know they’re still a little expensive – but a lot less expensive than some other designer pairs which can run you anywhere from $500 – $1000 and up.  I’m impressed!  It’s a little easier to save around $200, than it is $1000, that’s for sure!  What could you cut back on to save a little extra dough if you absolutely had to have a pair?  Cigarettes?  Fast food?  Restaurants?  Fancy mocha-chocha-lata-ya-ya’s?  Hmm?

Hey – I know, times are tough for most everyone right now.  I’m not trying to make you splurge on a pair of expensive wedding shoes.  I’m just pointing out some options for you!

Still don’t want to spend that much on a pair of shoes?  I don’t blame you…it never hurts to shop around!  Visit Like.com to find shoes that are similar to the ones you love, but a lot more budget friendly.  Or, visit the Wedding Guide at Piperlime to find selections fit for most any budget.   Happy shopping!

Patiently Await The Day With Your Bridesmaids…

…With Lovely & Affordable Rings!

Man, weddings can get expensive, can’t they?  By the time you’re finally done planning (or close to being done) all you want to do is chill.  Maybe spend some time with your fiance…or let your hair down with your girls!  After all, if they’ve been living up to their bridesmaid “duties” they probably need some chill time too.  And maybe a little token of appreciation for all their hard work.

If you’re looking for bridesmaid gift ideas but you’ve broken the bank paying for your wedding, fear not – their gifts don’t have to be expensive, just special!  Get them a little something special to not only remember your day by, but your friendship as well.

Perhaps a pretty little ring will do the job?  Choose from over 40 designs or have one custom made by Etsy seller SoraDesigns!  Below are a few of my personal favorites…to see more of my favorites, head on over to my guest blog over at the Wishpot.com Wedding blog by clicking HERE.
