…Adds Sophisticated Edge!
Before modern brides took over, the color black was left for funerals. Today, however, brides are incorporating black into their beautiful white weddings and it’s hotter than ever! Black and white weddings are not only classy, but sophisticated, sexy and even a little edgy too…
If you consider yourself a modern bride, consider bringing this stylish look home to your table as well. The pairing of these colors allow you to transform your table from casual to dressy, just like white dishes do…only with a little sass!
Spice it up a little with punches of color for any season or occasion, using flowers, linens or whatever else comes to mind. Oh yes, black and white is here to stay, wouldn’t you say? Now, how will you Set Your Table?

Thanks for Moments By Morgan for originally turning me on to this event!
I’ve always been drawn to the color red. Mixed with black and white. Those were actually the colors of our wedding, almost 6 years ago! That was before I was introduced to the world of wedding blogging.
Now, the ideas for that color scheme continue to push through the crevices of my happy, wedding-obsessed mind and onto this blog, for you…

I recently created this board for a bride who was searching for old-world, vintage Hollywood wedding ideas. While I personally think each photo above deserves applause for it’s lusciousness, I especially love the bracelet. It reads, “Keep Me”.
To the bride planning her wedding, keep the fond memories of your past. Keep some of the traditions passed on through your families. Keep the wonder of childhood and remember it’s innocence. Keep the hopes and dreams of your future, the love you have for each other strong…and keep your vows! No matter the years that go by…always, always keep the passion.
Wearing Black In The Spring? Definitely, My Dear!
I’m loving the look of Miss March from the February/March issue of Modern Bride Magazine. Shiny black hair, super flirty black eyelashes and sexy black nail polish. Pure awesomeness…
“A rock ‘n roll wedding is a wedding where the couple actually acknowledge that to plan a good wedding, they have to incorporate themselves and plan what they love for their day. They laugh in the face of the wedding industry and the wedding magazines that tell them what they need to do to make a ‘good wedding’.” ~ Kat, Rock ‘n Roll Bride
My husband and I were married in the Spring and our bridesmaids wore black. Of course there are people that think it’s (gasp!) too “morbid” of a color, especially for a Spring wedding. Too bad, so sad ~ we planned our wedding the way we wanted to. Black is back, baby…and it’s here to stay. It’s not only cool, it’s classic!
Maybe we didn’t exactly plan a “rock ‘n roll” wedding, but I’ll tell you one thing, our wedding surely rocked. To this day we receive compliments on it! So go on. Do what you want to do. Don’t let others tell you how to style your wedding, because in the end, it’s your wedding…not theirs. Read more about the definition of a “rock ‘n roll bride” by clicking HERE. Happy planning!
