…Details From The “Here Comes The Blog” Event!

Last week, I was thrilled to join Editor-In-Chief of, Michelle Preli along with Ami of Elizabeth Anne Designs for the Here Comes The Blog registry event at the Chicago Bloomingdale’s Medinah Home Store!

here comes the blog

After having a little fun sharing the new Set Your Table tool with couples, we got a chance to discuss a few of our favorite registry trends and also shared some helpful tips and advice together!

Once we finished chit chatting, everyone headed up to the registry floor to browse around, register and enjoy delicious cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from Catered By Design.  Check out their awesome cocktail tree on display…imagine having one of those at your wedding!

It was such a pleasure to meet and talk with the happy couples, vendors and the amazing staff at Bloomies.  Seriously, I never realized how unique the Bloomingdale’s registry is.  If you haven’t registered there yet, you’re in for a special treat!  It’s not just a registry, my dears…it’s an experience.  My goodness, it made me want to get married to my husband all over again –  just so we could register once more!

I promise to share more details and pictures with you soon!  From creative tablescape and centerpiece ideas to gorgeous product lines, the event was truly inspiring.  We learned so much while there…so stay tuned for more exciting registry posts to come!  It will be like our own little event, extended over a couple of weeks – sound good?

Until then, be sure to head over to Bloomingdale’s to build your dream registry and enjoy the new Set Your Table tool.  Cheers!

…Just A Little Blog Love!

I think it’s pretty well known that my “Sweet Home Chicago” is home to some very talented  and creative wedding bloggers, but just in case you weren’t aware, I thought I’d pass them along.  Whether you’re planning your wedding in the “Windy City” or in a far away land, here’s a list of other Chicago blogs you’ll find not only helpful, but inspiring too!

I actually had the pleasure of meeting all of the lovely ladies behind these blogs today, for the Chicago Brides & Bloggers Brunch – let me tell you, they are absolutely awesome!  So, I had to give them a little shout out and some blog love!

Don’t I have such cool neighbors?  I sure think so!  A special thanks to Tina, from With This Ring I Thee Obsess, for planning our little brunch in the city today!  What a sweetheart, she even passed out a couple of treats for us.   Of course, thanks to all of the ladies who came out for the event, it was so nice to meet you all!!!

Until next time…cheers!

New Magazine ~ Weddings By The Ritz-Carlton…

 …Puttin’ On Da Ritz!

When my husband and I got married 6 years ago, we were blessed and lucky to receive our honeymoon at The Ritz-Carlton Chicago as a gift.   Walking into the hotel, fully dressed in my wedding gown and the hubby in his tux, it was an amazing experience we’ll never forget!  We were treated like royalty – our entire stay!  Literally.

Every person working at The Ritz treated us like gold, even remembering our names and greeting us the entire stay.  Seriously – how did they remember our names like that?  Every single person in that hotel from the concierge, the front desk, the bell guy, the elevator guy, wait staff – greeted us with, “Hello, Mr. & Mrs. H.!”.  We weren’t wearing name tags.  They just knew who we were somehow.  I still don’t understand how.

Our stay there was magical.  Breathtakingly beautiful and so much more.  If you’d like to read more about our stay, click HERE.  Even if you don’t go there for your wedding or honeymoon, if you just stay there for one night, at least once in your life – the experience is worth it.  I can’t explain it…it just is.  You’ll understand if you go!

I love The Ritz-Carlton hotel chain for so many fabulous reasons, but this next reason tops the cake!  Did you know that they have also started  A Vow to Help Others program?  “When you book your wedding to be held prior to December 31, 2010, The Ritz-Carlton will donate five percent of the food revenue to The Ritz-Carlton Community Footprints Fund and the charity of your choice.” – The Ritz-Carlton

Now that’s fab.

As if their hotel ambiance, impeccable service and giving back to the community wasn’t enough, The Ritz Carlton has now decided to also come out with a wedding magazine to help couples plan for their wedding.  Yes, it’s true…

“This June, Weddings by The Ritz-Carlton will become a biannual magazine distributed in guest rooms of the 70-plus Ritz-Carlton properties worldwide and to all brides- and grooms-to-be who inquire about weddings and honeymoon packages at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C.

By bringing together writers, illustrators and photographers from around the world, Weddings by The Ritz-Carlton will be a new type of bridal magazine that inspires and delights readers the world-over with insights into the trends and traditions of a signature Ritz-Carlton wedding, as well as elements of designing the ultimate wedding experience including rings, gowns and ideas for making the celebration and honeymoon unforgettable.

‘The Ritz-Carlton sets the standard for once-in-a-lifetime occasions and our magazine is fashioned to do the same,’ said Julia Gajcak, vice president of marketing and communications at The Ritz-Carlton.” – via Press Release

Who’s excited?  You know I can’t wait to get my first copy of the magazine…and as soon as I do, darling dearests, I’ll be sure to share it with you.  Cheers and happy planning!

…Everywhere You Turn!

Spring is here, as is the wedding season!  Which means bridal events are going to be popping up everywhere for you to attend and enjoy.  What’s going on near you?  If you know of an exciting event going on near you and would like to share it with other brides, please comment away!  Below are a couple to kick off the season

Hello Darling at the Macy’s Flower Show in Chicago this weekend, April 10 – 13th (off Easter Sunday)!  The entire show runs through April 19th, for more details and to see the other featured floral designers, click HERE.

“For the first time in the history of the State Street flower show, five top local floral artists will showcase their individual artistry when each creates a one-of-a-kind floral-themed masterpiece known as Bouquet of the Day.  These awe-inspiring bouquets will be created by some of Chicago’s top floral designers.  Each designer will be challenged to bring their unique touch to a floral focal point at Macy’s on State Street.

Inspired by this year’s theme, Dream In Color, these remarkably unusual designs will exemplify the personal style of each designer and highlight some of the most dazzling floral displays ever to be seen in the Windy City.  Sure to be a spectator favorite and a flower show mainstay, the Bouquet of the Day will be featured in the main aisle in the Cosmetics department.  Each larger than life bouquet will sore nearly 10 feet in height.”  – Macy’s

The Las Vegas Bridal Tour, hosted by Green Orchid EventsRegistration is still open, but hurry,  space is limited!  A portion of all ticket sales will benefit
