A Totally Off The Wall Guestbook Idea…

…A Shower Curtain?

I know.  You’re thinking I’m weird.  Well it’s ok, because I am!  I’m the first one to admit it.  But half of the reason I’m weird is because my brain likes to think outside the box…I like creative thinking.  Sometimes it’s a good idea that pops into my head, sometimes it’s just too weird and people look at me like I’m nuts (like you might be doing right now)!  I’ll let you decide.

I’m going to try and start this as a new trend.  I haven’t seen it done yet, so why not?!  What if, instead of using the typical guest book for your wedding, you used a shower curtain for guests to sign with advice for a happy marriage?  Perhaps one similar to this Piping Shower Curtain from Target:

I would use a solid color shower curtain, one that will match with whatever other bathroom accessories you might be registering for.  Or, use a neutral color, so it can be used even if you want to change your bathroom colors or theme.  Perhaps you could even use a black shower curtain along with a silver marker for your guests to sign with – then decorate it with rhinestones or some cool hooks?  Whoa.

Depending on the material of the shower curtain, I suggest using a permanent marker or one that will work in case you want to wash it, which I’m assuming you eventually will!  This Top 500 SAT Words Shower Curtain from Target is what inspired this idea:

This idea could be used at either your bridal shower (for your shower – get it?) or your wedding, for guests to sign “advice for a happy marriage” along with their names.  What a better way to reminded of ways to keep your marriage a happy one, as you wake up each morning to read your personalized shower curtain while you’re getting ready for the day.

It’s a unique way to decorate your home, and read your guestbook everyday without it getting dusty in your closet, don’t you think?  Or no?  Maybe you’re still thinking I’m weird, huh?  Well, I think it’s cool, and would love to hear your thoughts, so comment away.

Also, if you choose to do this for your upcoming wedding, I’d love it if you would share the pictures with me!  If you’d like to, email me at: itsajaimething{at}yahoo{dot}com.  Cheers!

  7. Jaime, this is a hilarious and wonderful idea. You are so inventive!

I think using this for a shower is just adorable. Shower attendees can write advice, draw pictures, whatever. Very cute!
